## The short version

- **Calls your Twyn assistant answers are recorded and transcribed** so we can send you a summary, a transcript and an urgency flag. You can delete them at any time.

- **Your phone book never leaves your phone.** When a saved contact calls, the app sends only that caller's display name, so the assistant can greet them by name.

- The assistant tells callers it's an assistant. Where the law requires it, **you're responsible for letting your callers know** their call may be answered and recorded by an AI assistant.

- We don't sell your personal data, and we don't show ads.

- You can delete your account in the app (**You → Delete account**) or by emailing [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro).

This Privacy Policy explains how NeoBound AI ("we", "us", "our") handles personal data when you use the Twyn AI – Call Assistant Android app (package `assistant.twyn.ai`), the twynai.pro website and related services (together, the "Service"). It applies to you as a Twyn user and, where described below, to people who call you and reach your Twyn assistant ("callers").

## 1. Who we are

The Service is operated by **NeoBound AI**, Orchid Business Park, Sector 48, Gurugram, Haryana 122018. For questions about this policy or your data, email [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro). Users in India can also contact our [Grievance Officer](https://twynai.pro/grievance/).

For your account data, we decide how and why it is processed (we are the "data fiduciary" under India's DPDP Act and the "controller" under the GDPR). For callers' data, we process it to provide the Service to you, on your instructions; where a law treats us as responsible for that data, this policy applies to callers too.

## 2. How the Service works, in brief

You turn on your mobile carrier's **conditional call forwarding** (when busy, unanswered or unreachable) to a Twyn number. The app is set as Android's **call screening app**: when a call arrives that you can't take, it reads the incoming number, tells our server, and declines the call so your carrier forwards it to Twyn. Our AI voice assistant then talks to the caller, and you receive a summary, a transcript and an urgency flag. If the call looks urgent, the app shows a full-screen alert.

## 3. Information we process

| Category | What it includes | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Account** | Your name, your mobile number, country and language, and the assistant settings you choose (for example greeting, languages, what counts as urgent) | Creating your account, running your assistant the way you set it up |
| **Number verification** | A one-second missed call from your phone to a Twyn number. We read the caller ID (your number) and the time; the call isn't answered and has no audio | Confirming you own the number you signed up with |
| **Call forwarding status** | Whether forwarding to Twyn is turned on, and the Twyn number you forward to | Routing forwarded calls to your assistant, showing setup status |
| **Callers' calls** | The caller's phone number, call date, time and duration, the **call audio (recording)**, the **transcript**, the **AI summary**, the urgency flag and the language spoken | Answering the call, giving you a summary and transcript, alerting you to urgent calls |
| **Caller display name** | If the caller is saved in your phone's contacts, only that contact's display name, sent at the moment of the call | Letting the assistant greet the caller by name and showing you who called |
| **Device and app** | App version, device model, Android version, push-notification token, and a **salted hash** of your device's Android ID (not the ID itself) | Delivering notifications and alerts, troubleshooting, preventing referral fraud |
| **App analytics** | Install and in-app usage events collected by Firebase Analytics (for example, screens opened, setup steps completed), with an app-instance identifier | Understanding which features work and where setup gets stuck |
| **Install source** | The campaign tags (UTM parameters) passed by the Google Play Install Referrer, including an invite code if you installed from a friend's invite link | Knowing which links bring installs, crediting referrals |
| **Credits and referrals** | Free assistant minutes ("credits") granted, used and expired, and who invited whom | Showing your balance, running the referral programme, stopping abuse |
| **Support** | Whatever you send us by email | Answering you |

### What we don't collect

- **Your phone book.** The app reads contacts on your phone only to look up the name of a caller at the moment they call. Your contact list is never uploaded or stored on our servers.

- Calls you answer yourself. Twyn only handles calls your carrier forwards to it.

- Your SMS messages, photos or precise location.

- Advertising identifiers. We don't show ads or share data for targeted advertising.

## 4. App permissions

| Permission | What we use it for |
| --- | --- |
| Call screening role | To see an incoming call's number, tell our server, and decline it so your carrier forwards it to Twyn. We don't access the content of calls on your phone. |
| Phone (phone state and numbers) | To know when you're on a call and to read your own number during setup |
| Make phone calls | Only when you tap to: place the one-second verification call, dial your carrier's call-forwarding codes, or call someone back |
| Contacts | To look up a caller's display name on your phone at call time. Only that name is sent; your contacts are never uploaded |
| Notifications and full-screen alerts | To show call summaries and to light up your screen for urgent calls |
| Run at start-up / in the background | So screening keeps working after your phone restarts |

## 5. How we use information, and our legal bases

- **To provide the Service**: answer forwarded calls, produce summaries, transcripts and urgency flags, notify you, and keep your history. *Basis:* performing our contract with you; under India's DPDP Act, the consent you give when you sign up and enable the features.

- **To verify your number and keep accounts secure**, and to prevent fraud and abuse of free credits and referrals (including the salted Android ID hash). *Basis:* legitimate interests; legal obligations.

- **To improve the app** using aggregated analytics. *Basis:* legitimate interests or, where required, consent.

- **To communicate with you** about your account, changes to the Service and these policies. *Basis:* contract; legitimate interests.

- **To comply with law** and respond to valid legal requests. *Basis:* legal obligation.

We don't use your call recordings, transcripts or summaries for advertising, and we don't sell them. We use call content only to provide the Service to you, to fix problems you report, and to keep the Service safe.

## 6. Callers: people who reach your assistant

When someone calls you and the call is forwarded to Twyn, we process their phone number, voice, what they say, and (if they're in your contacts) their display name, for the purposes above. Callers are not Twyn users, so:

- **The assistant identifies itself as an assistant** at the start of the call.

- **You are responsible for informing your callers**, where the law requires, that calls may be answered and recorded by an AI assistant, and for getting any consent the law requires. Recording and consent rules differ by country and, in the United States, by state: some states (for example California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington) require the consent of everyone on the call.

- A caller who wants their data accessed or deleted can email [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro) with their phone number and the approximate date of the call. We'll verify the request and, where appropriate, involve the user they called.

## 7. Automated processing and AI

Speech-to-text, the assistant's replies, summaries and urgency flags are produced automatically by AI systems. They can be wrong: a summary may miss something, or an urgent call may not be flagged. Always check the transcript or recording for anything important. The urgency flag only decides how loudly the app notifies you; it doesn't produce legal or similarly significant effects on you or your callers.

Our AI providers process call content only to provide their service to us, under contracts that don't allow them to use it to train their general models.

## 8. Who we share information with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service ("sub-processors"), under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for us:

| Provider | What they do | Location |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Google Cloud | Hosting of our servers and database | India (Mumbai) |
| Microsoft Azure | AI voice and language models that power the assistant, summaries and urgency flags | India |
| Plivo | Telephony: Twyn phone numbers, receiving forwarded calls, number verification | India and USA |
| Deepgram | Speech-to-text (transcription) | USA |
| Google Firebase | App analytics (Firebase Analytics) and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | USA and other Google locations |
| Google Play | App distribution and install referrer | Global |

We may also disclose information: to your mobile carrier as part of call forwarding; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, callers, the public or us; and to a successor if NeoBound AI is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under this policy. **We don't sell personal data** and don't "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by California law.

## 9. Where data is processed

Your data is processed mainly in **India**, and also in the **United States** (speech-to-text, analytics and push notifications, and parts of telephony). When data leaves your country, we rely on safeguards required by applicable law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum) in our provider contracts, and we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.

## 10. How long we keep it

| Data | Kept for |
| --- | --- |
| Call recordings, transcripts and summaries | 90 days by default, then deleted automatically. You can delete any call sooner in the app or by emailing us |
| Call log entries (caller number, time, duration, urgency) | Same as the call they belong to |
| Account, settings and credit balance | Until you delete your account |
| Salted Android ID hash and referral records | Up to 12 months after account deletion, to stop the same device claiming sign-up or referral credits again |
| Analytics events (Firebase) | Up to 14 months, per our Firebase settings |
| Server and security logs | About 90 days |
| Backups | Deleted data leaves our backups within 30 days |
| Support emails | Up to 2 years after the conversation ends |

We may keep specific data longer when the law requires it or to deal with a dispute, fraud or a valid legal request.

## 11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access to production systems is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach affects you, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

## 12. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

- **access** the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;

- **correct** or update it;

- **delete** it (see [Delete your account](https://twynai.pro/delete-account/));

- **withdraw consent** or object to processing, for example by turning off call forwarding, revoking app permissions, or deleting your account;

- get your data in a portable format, where the law gives you that right.

Email [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro) from, or including, the phone number on your account. We may need to verify your identity, for example by a one-time check on that number. We respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

### India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)

You have the rights to access information about your data, correction and erasure, grievance redressal, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated. Raise grievances with our [Grievance Officer](https://twynai.pro/grievance/) first; if you're not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

### European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You also have the rights to restrict processing and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

### United States (including California CCPA/CPRA)

Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can request to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. We don't sell or share personal information, or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. In the last 12 months we collected the categories listed in section 3 (identifiers, audio and electronic information, internet or other network activity, and inferences in the form of urgency flags) for the purposes in section 5, and disclosed them only to the service providers in section 8. You may use an authorised agent to make a request.

### Australia (Privacy Act 1988)

You can access and correct your personal information. If you're unhappy with our response to a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

### Singapore (PDPA)

You can access and correct your personal data and withdraw consent. Our contact for data protection matters is [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro).

## 13. Children

The Service is only for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children as users. If you believe a child has created an account, email [hi@twynai.pro](mailto:hi@twynai.pro) and we'll delete it. A child may still be a caller who reaches a user's assistant; their data is handled as described in section 6.

## 14. This website

twynai.pro uses no tracking or advertising cookies. See our [Cookie Policy](https://twynai.pro/cookies/).

## 15. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when the Service or the law changes, and change the "Last updated" date. For material changes we'll tell you in the app or by another reasonable means before they take effect.
